My work has always involved an element of texture and form and I have always had an interest in textiles and colour but found myself being drawn towards painting rather than textiles itself.
I work primarily with bright colours and free flowing shapes to create a sense of depth and surface to my paintings. Colour is also an important aspect to me and I like to switch up my palettes as much as possible.
In my first/ second year of university and early college education I focused on microbiology and what natural patterns and colours are created by nature.Although now I take inspiration from my surroundings and my own personal mindset at that time and combine that with past research and interests, such as mould and microbiology.
I never saw myself becoming an abstract painter, but I am enjoying working in this style.
