Amy Bateman

By taking inspiration from the natural world, Amy Bateman’s work focuses on taking a closer look into organic forms and abstracting the hidden patterns within them to create her paintings. Her colour pallete is carefully chosen, not only to make the usually hidden patterns in these organic forms stand out, but to guide the viewers eye to parts of her paintings that would usually go unnoticed.

Amy uses a variety of materials such as acrylic paints, graphite, oil pastels and watercolours to create her work. She religiously begins a series of work by creating a large number of graphite/pastel studies, that then inform her larger paintings.
